Once upon a time, there was a company called Bronzebear Media Distribution. But its owner was laid off his job in early 2001, went to grad school, and didn't have time to operate the business anymore. So he sold the catalog materials off to a kindly rabbit and climbed into his ivory tower. But his ivory tower was overcrowded with lots of little furry odds and ends, items from the Ed Zolna collection, as well as his personal collection. So, as the financial crunch of grad school, a crummy economy, and living on graduate teaching wages closed in, he started to auction things off... |

What all are you auctioning off?It changes every week. Check out my Furbid auctions. What's being sold?Lots of things. Odds and ends mostly. I had a few things leftover from Bronzebear. I had stuff from the Zolna acquisition that I couldn't take up when I sold off Bronzebear. I have about ten years' worth of furry things from my own collection. I'm trying to lighten my load in life, so I'm auctioning a lot of my furry things off as well.Hey, I saw that you had _______ last week. Can I buy it directly from you? When I set up for an auction, I essentially go spleunking through the boxes. I don't have inventory. I just pick 20-30 items and start getting them ready to sell. I can't guarantee that I have anything in stock. Thus, I can't do direct sales. How can I pay for my things?I can take two forms of payment:1) Paypal Quick, easy, and no waiting on checks to clear. When you win your auction, send your payment (via Paypal) to cutter *AT* steelbadger.com 2) Check/Money Order Yes, I will accept checks and money orders. But please be advised that there's going to be a waiting period for shipping, as I have to get to the bank to deposit checks, then wait for them to clear. Paypal is greatly preferred for auctions. Please email me for information on sending a check. Can I combine shipping on multiple auctions?Yes, if you've won multiple auctions, you may combine shipping by using the following formula:ITEMS SHIPPED WITHIN THE US: 1 auction=$ 4.25 shipping (priority mail) each additional auction= $1.00 per auction. Thus, the combined shipping on three auctions would be $ 6.25. ITEMS SHIPPED OUTSIDE THE US: Please contact me with information (i.e. where you live) for shipping, so fair rates can be applied. As with US deliveries, auctions can be combined for shipping. Where's my stuff? I paid you Sunday! It's now Tuesday! I wanted it Monday, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Please realize that Furbid/Ebay is not my primary source of income. I have other obligations in life: classes, my jobs, academic functions. As a result, my being and existence doesn't necessarily revolve around trips to the post office. My auctions end on a weekend. Hence, payments usually start rolling in on Sunday. I try to schedule the first trip to the post office on a Wednesday. Please allow 2-3 days for order processing and transportation to the post office. Please expect your order approximately seven days after Paypal/Money Order receipt; and approximately three weeks after check receipt. My bank requires anywhere from 5-10 business days to allow checks to clear. Seeing as one dishonest customer has stuck me with a bad check already, I can't allow it to happen again. If speed is of the essence, please consider paypal or a money order for your payment. If you have a question about the status of your order, a polite email is suggested.Due to some dishonest bidders, I need to implement two new policies:1) Your shipping address must appear in your Furbid/Ebay profile. When the auction ends, I get a bulletin with your physical address. Those are what I use to build my post-auction reports from. If you cannot include your physical address in your profile, and expect me to play this cloak and dagger "send the package to Arkansas, care of "captain secrecy," then put another envelope in the package, and it will be sent to my secret lair in Detroit, where I'll drive in from Canada, and dodge the import taxes" crap isn't going to fly anymore.Likewise, it also eliminates the forged email "I lost my password for that address. But I'm writing because I want the order sent_____" scam. The address in your profile is where I'll be shipping things to, so please make sure they are accurate. 2) I'm not the postal system. Once I send orders out, I have no control over them. If you've just shelled out over $20 for a portfolio, you might want to consider insurance for it. When I've handed the order over to the post office, I can't be responsible for it-- that's what postal insurance is for. I apologize for sounding harsh, but I've just had some bad experiences with some bidders, and need to take these as protective measures. |
